Migration Agents Registration Renewal Charge Regulations 1998

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Migration Agents Registration Renewal Charge Act 1997.

Name of Regulations

 1. These Regulations are the Migration Agents Registration Renewal Charge Regulations 1998.

Commencement

 2. These Regulations commence on 21 March 1998.

Amount of charge

 3. For section 6 of the Migration Agents Registration Renewal Charge Act 1997, the amount of charge payable is:

• (a)

  for an individual who intends to charge a fee for giving immigration assistance—$1,000; or

• (b)

  for an individual who does not intend to charge a fee for giving immigration assistance—$150.

Cessation of effect of Regulations

 4. These Regulations cease to have effect on 21 March 1999.
