I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Migration Agents Registration Application Charge Act 1997.

1Name of Regulations

 These Regulations are the Migration Agents Registration Application Charge Amendment Regulations 2001 (No. 1).

2Commencement

 These Regulations commence on 1 July 2001.

3Amendment of Migration Agents Registration Application Charge Regulations 1998

Schedule 1 amends the Migration Agents Registration Application Charge Regulations 1998.

  • (2)

    For the purposes of section 6 of the Act:

    • (a)

      the amount of charge payable on the making of an application for registration, other than repeat registration, made on or after 1 July 2001 is $1 180; and

    • (b)

      the amount of charge payable on the making of an application for repeat registration made on or after 1 July 2001 is $950.

  • (2)

    For the purposes of section 6 of the Act:

    • (a)

      the amount of charge payable on the making of an application for registration, other than repeat registration, made on or after 1 July 2000 is $160; and

    • (b)

      the amount of charge payable on the making of an application for repeat registration made on or after 1 July 2000 is $105.
