MIGRATION AGENTS

(CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT –

PROGRAM OF EDUCATION)

MARA NOTICE MN38-05a OF 2005

The Migration Agents Registration Authority, acting under clause 3 of Schedule 1 to the Migration Agents Regulations 1998:

1. REVOKES the notice entitled Migration Agents (Continuing Professional Development – Program of Education) MN32-04 of 2004, published on 03/08/2004; and
   
   

1. SPECIFIES  the program of education described in columns 2 and 3 of an item in the Schedule as an approved activity for the purposes of that clause:

(a)        with the status specified in column 4; and

(b)       having the value specified in column 5.

(3)       SETS AS A REQUIREMENT for the completion of the activity described in columns 2 and 3, that the activity be completed at a time when the participant has previously satisfied the requirements, as specified in column 6 as follows:

Requirement for eligibility to complete the activity

Level 1

NIL

Level 2

Participant has at the date of commencement of the activity:

·     2 years or more experience as a registered migration agent; or

·     completed 20 or more approved CPD activities (either levelled or unlevelled activities); or

·     been approved by the Authority as eligible to complete activities at level 2.

Level 3

Participant has at the date of commencement of the activity:

·     4 years or more experience as a registered migration agent; or

·     completed level 2 activities giving 20 or more CPD points; or

·     completed level 1 activities giving 60 or more CPD points; or

·     completed 60 or more approved CPD activities with an item number in the 1 to 99,000 series; or

·     been approved by the Authority as eligible to complete activities at level 3.

This notice has effect on and from 1 April 1998.
