METROPOLITAN WATER, SEWERAGE, AND

DRAINAGE (CAPITAL INDEBTEDNESS)

ACT.

Act No. 3, 1943.

An Act to make further provision in relation to the remission of the capital indebtedness of the Metropolitan Water, Sewerage, and Drainage Board to the State; for this pur­ pose to amend the Metropolitan Water, Sewerage and Drainage Act, 1924-1941; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 5th May, 1943.]

BE it enacted by the King 's Most Excellent Majesty, lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South b y and with t h e advice and consent of the Legis­	Wales in Par l iament assembled, and by the au thor i ty of
the same, as follows :—

1 . (1) This Act may be cited as the "Me t ropo l i t an

W a t e r , Sewerage, and Dra inage (Capi ta l Indebtedness)

Act,	1943 . "
(2) The Metropol i tan W a t e r , Sewerage, and

Dra inage Act, 1924, as amended by subsequent Acts and by this Act, may be cited as the Metropol i tan W a t e r , Sewerage, and Dra inage Act, 1924-1943.

(3) This Act shall be deemed to have commenced upon the first day of Ju ly , one thousand nine hundred and forty.

2 . The Metropol i tan W a t e r , Sewerage, and Dra inage

Act, 1924, as amended by subsequent Acts , is amended—

(a) by inserting after subsection three of section

69A the following new subsect ion:—

(3A) Notwi ths tand ing any th ing contained in

this section the capi tal indebtedness of the board to the S ta t e as a t the commencement of

the financial year commencing on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty, shall be reduced by the remission of the sum of six hundred and thirty-one thousand five hundred and eighty-eight pounds.

(b) by omitting from subsection four of the same section the words "eleven million four hundred and fifty thousand pounds" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words " ten million five hundred and fifty-eight thousand sis hundred and fifty-one pounds."
