Act No. 127, 1985

An Act to amend the Metropolitan Water,- Sewerage, and Drainage Act 1924 in relation to the contributions to be made, by persons proposing to subdivide land, toward the cost of services, to provide an exemption from rates for the land on which the Sydney Entertainment Centre is situated and to enable insurance to be effected by the Metropolitan Water Sewerage and Drainage Board with an insurer other than the Government Insurance Office of New South Wales. Metropolitan Water, Sewerage, and Drainage (Amendment) 1985

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the "Metropolitan Water, Sewerage, and

Drainage (Amendment) Act 1985".

Amendment of Act No. 50, 1924

2. The .Metropolitan Water, Sewerage, and Drainage Act 1924 is

amended iri'the manner set forth in Schedule 1.

SCHEDULE 1

(Sec. 2)

AMENDMENTS TO THE METROPOLITAN WATER, SEWERAGE,

AND DRAINAGE ACT 1924

(1) Section 34B (2) (b)—

Omit "fifteen years", insert instead "25 years".

(2) Section 88 (3A)—

After section 88 (3), insert:

(3A) The land comprised in Lot 1, Deposited Plan 561879 and Lot 3, Deposited Plan 601512, known as the Sydney Entertainment Centre, shall not be ratable from the commencement of this subsection until such day as may be appointed by the Governor by proclamation published in the Gazette.
