An Act to provide for the proclamation of catchment areas ; to amend the Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Acts, 1880-1916 ; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 24th November, 1922.]

the same, as follows: —
1. This Act may be cited as the "Metropolitan Water and Sewerage (Amendment) Act, 1922 ," and
shall be construed with the Metropolitan Water and
Sewerage Acts, 1880-1916 .
2. (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of section twenty-seven of the Metropolitan Mater and Sewerage
Act of 1880, the Governor, by proclamation published
in the Gazette, may revoke and cancel the proclamation
of the Metropolitan Catchment Area, published in
pursuance of that section in the Gazette of sixth Ju ly , one thousand eight hundred and eighty, and from time to time proclaim and define the boundaries of a catch­ ment area or catchment areas for the purpose of supplying water to any places or districts. (2)

(2) A catchment area proclaimed in pursuance of this section shall be subject to the provisions of the Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Acts, 1880-1916, or any Act amending the same, relating to a catchment area proclaimed under the Metropolitan Water and

Sewerage Act of 18S0.
(3) The Governor may by like proclamation at any time revoke and cancel the proclamation of any catchment area, and re-proclaim the boundaries of such area, or may by like proclamation as aforesaid amend the boundaries of any catchment area previously thereto proclaimed.

3. The Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Act of

1880 is amended as follows:—

(1) By inserting in section two in the definition of

"catchment a rea" before the words "water
district " the words " area place or " ;

(2) by omitting from section eighty-two the words '• the watershed to be " and by inserting in lieu thereof the words " any catchment area" ;

and by inserting in the same section after the word " hereinbefore " the words " or by the Metropolitan Mater and Sewerage (Amend­ ment) Act, 1922."

1. Paragraph (a) of section twelve of the Metropolitan

Water and Sewerage Amendment Act, 191(5, is
amended by omitting the words " the Metropolitan"

and substituting therefor the word "any . "

5. The Metropolitan AVater and Sewerage Acts,

proclamation, by-law, or regulation, or in any proceedings	1880-1916, and this Act may be referred to in any Act,
in any court, as the " Metropolitan Water and Sewerage
Acts, 1880-1922."
