[ASSENTED TO 25TH OCTOBER, 1912.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, hy and with the advice and consent of the Legis- .lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows ;- 1. frhis Act may be cited as "The Metropolitan Short title Water and Sewerage .A . ct Amendment Ac . t of 1912." The Principal Act and this Act may together be cited as "The Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Acts, 1909- 1912." . 2. The Board is hereby authorised and empowered to Power to construct, maintain, and work a line of tramway four and construct a- haIf ml' les or t hereabouts I.n 1ength, commencm. g by a ftrraommwTaiyvoli junction with the State Railway at ffivoli Railway Station, ~ ti~ . waYt and thence proceeding, by i} route delineated in the il~ ~ ~ ~ 0 Schedule to this ~ tict, to Mount Orosby in accordance with ~ ; o~ b~ . 1 ' plans, sections, and book of reference to be deposited in - c e u e'J the office of the Department of Public Warks at Brisbane, and approved by the Governor in Council; Provided that the Governor in Oouncil may authorise the Board in con- structing the said tramway to make such alterations and deviations of the route so delineated in such Schedule as are considered expedient. ~ . The said tramway shall be constructed upon the Gauge, gauge upon which the State railways are at present constructed, and shall in regard to strength and durability be equal to such railways. 4. The Board may use and employ on the said tram- Motive way locomotive engines propelled by steam or other motive power. power, and rolling stock to be drawn and propelled thereby; >I< 9 Edw. VII. The Board may carry for hire on the said tramway for the public, passengers, goods, live stock, and material at such rates as shall be fixed by By-laws of the Board made under the authority and in the manner prescribed by the Principal Act, and in so· doing shall have no further liability than the liability of stage coach proprietors and common carriers under the laws of Queensland. General powers. 6. In and for the purpose of the construction, main- tenance, and working of the said tramway the Board shall have and may exercise all the powers and authorities vested in it by the Principal Act, and._the said tramway shall be deemed to be works within the meaning of the Principal Act. 3 Geo. [ASSENTEU TO 7TH DECEMBER, 1912.J B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Oouncil and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - Short title 1. This Act may be cited as "The Thursday Island acnondstruction. Waterworks Act Amendm.ent Act ~ f 1912," and shall be read as one with" The Thursday Island Waterworks Act of 1911,"* herein referr~d to as the Principal Act. Increased amount of {!ost of waterworks. 2. It shall be lawful "for the Treasurer, out of the moneys of The Port Kennedy Harbour Dues Trust Account, to construct waterworks at Thursday Island under the conditions prescribed by the Principal Act, notwithstanding that the cost of such works is now estimated to be twenty-six thousand pounds or thereabouts, instead of sixteen thousand pounds or thereabouts as mentioned in the preamble of the Principal Act.
