Metropolitan Fire Brigades (General) Amendment (Road Accident Rescue Service) Regulations 2014
The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy with the advice of the Executive Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Metropolitan Fire Brigades (General) Regulations 2005—
(a)to ensure that the Board may charge the person or body responsible for payment of compensation under section 224(1)(a) of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 fees for road accident rescue services provided in relation to injuries sustained on or after 1 July 2014; and
(b)to ensure that the Board may continue to charge the person or body responsible for the payment of compensation under section 99(1)(a) of the Accident Compensation Act 1985 fees for road accident rescue services provided in relation to injuries sustained before 1 July 2014.
2Authorising provisions
These Regulations are made under section 34 of the Metropolitan Fire Brigades Act 1958.
3Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2014.
4Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Metropolitan Fire Brigades (General) Regulations 2005[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
5Road accident rescue service
(1)In regulation 20(1) of the Principal Regulations, for "section 60(1)(a)" substitute "section 60(2)(a)".
(2)In regulation 20(2) of the Principal Regulations, after "Accident Compensation Act 1985" insert "in relation to injuries sustained before 1 July 2014".
(3)After regulation 20(2) of the Principal Regulations, insert—
"(2A)In respect of road accident rescue services provided to people entitled to compensation under section 224(1)(a) of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 in relation to injuries sustained on or after 1 July 2014, the Board may charge the person or body responsible for payment of compensation under that section, the fees agreed with that person or body.".
(4)In regulation 20(3) of the Principal Regulations, for "(1) and (2)" substitute "(1), (2) and (2A)".
