Merit Protection

(Australian Federal Police) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Merit Protection (Australian Government Employees)Act 1984.

Schedule

1. The Schedule to the Merit Protection (Australian Federal Police) Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting the modifications of sections 22 and 24 of the Merit Protection (Australian Government Employees) Act 1984; and

(b) by inserting in their appropriate numerical positions (according to the provision to be modified) the modifications set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

MODIFICATIONS OF THE MERIT PROTECTION

(AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES)

ACT 1984

Section 22:

Omit “Divisions 8b and 8c of Part III of the Public Service Act 1922”, substitute “section 38e of the Federal Police Act”.

Section 24:

Omit the section, substitute the following section:

Parties to appeal proceedings

“24. For the purposes of this Subdivision, the parties to an appeal are the parties specified in Division 2 of Part IIa of the Australian Federal Police Regulations.”.
