AN ACT to apply Part II. of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, to British Ships registered at, trading with, or being at Ports in Western Australia.

(2.) For the purposes of this section, in the said Part II. the expression " Board of Trade" or " Board," and the expression " United Kingdom," shall mean and be read as " Governor " and " Western Australia" respectively.

Where, in the said Part II., any reference is made to any

particular officer or class of officers, the Governor may, from time to time, designate the officer or officers who are, in Western Australia, to perform the duties and stand in the place of the officer or officers so referred to.
