Mental Health Further Amendment Regulations 2020

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Mental Health Regulations 2014 to prescribe Mildura Base Public Hospital as a designated mental health service for the purposes of the definition of designated mental health service in section 3(1) of the Mental Health Act 2014.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 370 of the Mental Health Act 2014.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 15 September 2020.

4New regulation 13

After regulation 12 of the Mental Health Regulations 2014[1] insert

"13   Reference provision

(1)Unless the context otherwise requires, a reference to the designated mental health service known as New Mildura Base Hospital or Mildura Base Hospital in an order made under Part 4 of the Mental Health Act 2014 is to be construed as a reference to the designated mental health service Mildura Base Public Hospital.

(2)This regulation applies on and from the commencement of this regulation until 1 January 2022.".

5Schedule 1—Designated mental health services

In Schedule 1 to the Mental Health Regulations 2014, after "Mercy Public Hospitals Incorporated" insert "Mildura Base Public Hospital".
