Mental Health Act 2014

Mental Health Amendment Regulations 2020

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Mental Health Regulations 2014 to prescribe bodies to whom the Commissioner may provide information and make recommendations for the purpose of improving the provision of mental health services.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 370 of the Mental Health Act 2014.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 25 February 2020.

4New regulation 10A inserted

After regulation 10 of the Mental Health Regulations 2014[1] insert—

"10A   Quality and safety—prescribed persons or bodies

For the purposes of section 228(j)(ix) of the Act, the following persons or bodies are prescribed—

(a)Safer Care Victoria, being an Administrative Office within the meaning of the Public Administration Act 2004;

(b)the Victorian Agency for Health Information being an Administrative Office within the meaning of the Public Administration Act 2004.".
