Mental Health Amendment Regulations 2003

I, the Administrator in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Mental Health Act 1996 .19 May 2003

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Mental Health Amendment Regulations 2003 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Mental Health Regulations 1999 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 9 insertedAfter regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted: 9Prescribed corresponding laws For the purpose of the definition of "corresponding law" in section 83A of the Act, the following laws are prescribed as corresponding laws: (a) Mental Health Act 1986 [VIC]; (b) Mental Health Act 1990 [NSW]; (c) Mental Health (Treatment and Care) Act 1994 [ACT]; (d) Mental Health and Related Services Act 1998 [NT]; (e) Mental Health Act 2000 [QLD].
