Mental Health (Amendment) Regulations 2001

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend various references to registered psychologists in the Mental Health Regulations 1998 so that those references reflect the meaning of psychologist in the Psychologists Registration Act 2000.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 142 of the Mental Health Act 1986.

3. Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 June
2001.

4. Changes to references to registered psychologists

In the Mental Health Regulations 19981—

(a)

in regulation 5(5), for paragraph (b), "(b) psychologists registered under section 6

of the Psychologists Registration Act

2000;";

(b)

in regulation 5(7), for paragraph (c), "(c) psychologists registered under section 6

of the Psychologists Registration Act

2000;";

(c)

in regulation 19, for paragraph (b), "(b) psychologists registered under section 6

of the Psychologists Registration Act

2000;";

(d)

in Schedule 13, under the heading "What Happens At The Hearing?", in the paragraph headed "a forensic resident", for "a psychologist" substitute "a psychologist registered under section 6 of the Psychologists Registration Act 2000".
