I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Mental Health (Amendment) Act 1994 do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 14 October 1994 as the day on which that Act (Schedule 1 (3)–(5), (14) and (15) excepted) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Mental Health (Amendment) Act 1994 except the amendments to the Mental Health Act 1990 relating to the accreditation of persons by the Director-General of the Department of Health to perform certain functions in connection with the detention of persons in hospitals under the Mental Health Act 1990.
