Members of Parliament (Standards) Amendment Regulations 2020

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Members of Parliament (Standards) Regulations 2019 to make amendments to the primary return and ordinary return forms prescribed in Schedules 1 and 2.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 32 of the Members of Parliament (Standards) Act 1978.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 11 March 2020.

4Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Members of Parliament (Standards) Regulations 2019[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

5Amendment of Schedule 1—Primary return

(1)In Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations, after "PRIMARY RETURN" insert—

"REPORTING AS AT: ……/……/…………".

(2)In item 1a) of Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations, for "Income above the threshold amount that you have or expect to have by 30 June" substitute "Source of income above the threshold amount that you have or expect to have by 30 June [insert year]".

(3)In item 1b) of Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations, for "Income above the threshold amount that is received by 30 June" substitute "Source of income above the threshold amount that you have or expect to have by 30 June [insert year]".

6Amendment of Schedule 2—Ordinary return

(1)In Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, after "ORDINARY RETURN" insert—

"REPORTING PERIOD: ……/……/………… to ……/……/…………".

(2)In item 1a) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, for "Income above the threshold amount that you have or expect to have by 30 June" substitute "Source of income above the threshold amount that you have or expect to have by 30 June [insert year]".

(3)In item 1b) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, for "Income above the threshold amount that is received by 30 June" substitute "Source of income above the threshold amount that you have or expect to have by 30 June [insert year]".

(4)In item 14 of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, after "amount" insert "during the reporting period".

(5)In item 15 of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, after "Victoria" insert "during the reporting period".
