AN ACT to amend the Members of Parliament,

Reimbursement of Expenses, Act, 1953-1955.

[Assented to 14th December, 1959.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

and citation

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Members of Parliament, Reimbursement of Expenses, Act Amendment Act, 1959.

(2) In this Act the Members of Parliament, Reimbursement of Expenses, Act, 1953-1955, is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act

may be cited as the Members of Parliament,

Reimbursement of Expenses, Act, 1953-1959.

2. This Act shall come into operation on the gir

t. ence-

first day of January, one thousand nine hundred

and sixty.

3. Section two of the principal Act is amended

amended.

(a)

by substituting for the passage, "Except while occupying the office of Minister of the Crown, each" in lines one and two, the word, "Each";

(b)

by substituting for the word, "Schedule" in line seven, the words, "First Schedule".

4. Section two A of the principal Act is amended 2aded.

by substituting for the word, "Schedule" in line six of subsection (1), the words, "First Schedule".

5. The principal Act is amended by adding

6. Section three of the principal Act is amended s' ended.

by inserting after the word, "reimbursement" in line two of paragraph (a), the passage, "under section two or section two B of this Act".

7. The Schedule to the principal Act is

amended

(a)

by substituting for the heading, "SCHEDULE" the headin g, "FIRST SCHEDULE";

(b)

by substituting for the amount, "£200" where it appears in line two and again in line eleven of Item 1, the amount, "£450" in each case;

(c)

by substituting for the amount, "£400" where it appears in line two and again in line five of Item 2, the amount, "£700" in each case;

(d)

by substituting for the amount, "£350" where it appears in line two and again in line four of Item 3, the amount "€650" in each case;

(e)

by substituting for the amount, "£300" where it appears in line two of Item 4, the amount, "£600".
