" the sixth year of the reign of Her present Majesty intituled, ' An " Act to incorporate the Inhabitants of the Town of Melbozirne' " it was enacted t h a t from and after t he pass ing of t h e said reci ted Ac t the Town of Me lbou rne should consist of t he two por t ions of l and wh ich are defined in t h e Schedule to t h e said reci ted A c t annexed m a r k e d A A n d whereas i t is expedient to a l ter and amend so m u c h of t h e said recited Ac t as re la tes to t he boundar ies of Sou th Melbourne (par t of t h e said Town of Melbourne ) and otherwise to a l ter and amend the laws incorpora t ing t h e Town of Me lbourne and to m a k e other provisions in l ieu thereof Be i t therefore enacted by H i s Excel lency the Governor of New South W a l e s wi th t h e advice and consent of t h e
| Legislative Counci l thereof Tha t | so m u c h of t h e said reci ted Ac t as |
provides t h a t Sou th M e l b o u r n e (par t of t he said Town of Melbourne) should consist of t he por t ion of l and in t h e Schedule m a r k e d A to the said recited Act annexed secondly defined shall be from henceforth and t h e same is hereby repealed.
| 2. A n d be i t enacted T h a t | from and after t he pass ing of th i s |
Act so m u c h of the said Town of Me lbou rne as is k n o w n or dis t inguished by t h e n a m e of South Melbourne shall consist of t he port ion of l and defined in t he Schedule to th i s Ac t annexed.

affect or a l ter t he W a r d s of t he said Town of Me lbourne or t h e boundar ies thereof as described in t he Schedule B to t he said reci ted Ac t annexed b u t t h a t all and every t h e enac tmen t s and provisions of t h e said reci ted Ac t except as t he same arc expressly repealed and al tered by th i s Ac t shal l r emain and be in full force and effect in the same m a n n e r to all i n t en t s a n d purposes as if t h e por t ion of l and defined in t h e said Schedule here to annexed h a d been defined and described in t he said Schedule m a r k e d A to t he said reci ted Ac t annexed as the por t ion or boundar ies of Sou th Melbourne aforesaid.

South Melbourne—Bounded on the east by the continuation of the eastern boundary of North Melbourne bearing south one hundred and twenty-six chains and a half a chain on the south by a line bearing west to Hobson's Bay one hundred and twenty-five chains and by Hobson's Bay to the point where the prolongation of the western boundary line of North Melbourne would meet eighty-five chains on the west by this line bearing north to the Yarra Yar ra one hundred and eleven chains and on the north by the Yarra Yarra to the point of commencement.
