1930
Short title
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Medical Practitioners Registration
(Amendment) Ordinance {No. 2) 1982.1
Principal Ordinance
2. In this Ordinance, "Principal Ordinance'* means the Medical
Practitioners Registration Ordinance 1930.-
3. Section 18 of the Principal Ordinance is repealed and the following
(b) by omitting from paragraph (3) (d) "and" (last occurring);
section is substituted:
Payment of prescribed fees
"18. Where a prescribed fee is payable under this Ordinance, the prescribed
fee shall be paid to the Capital Territory Health Commission.".
Registration by the Board
4. Section 22 of the Principal Ordinance is amended
(a) by omitting sub-sections (2AA) and (2A) and substituting the following sub-section: "(2A) An application for registration under this section shall be lodged with the Board together with a testimonial, diploma, licence or certificate testifying to each of the qualifications of the applicant.";
| (c) | by adding at the end of sub-section (3) the following word and |
paragraph:
"; and (f) he has paid the prescribed fee or is a person who is exempted from the requirement to pay the prescribed fee by sub-section (3B)."; and
| (d) | by inserting after sub-section (3A) the following sub-section: |
"(3B) A person who applies for registration under this section is not required to pay the prescribed fee referred to in paragraph (3) (f) if he is registered or licensed as a medical practitioner under a law of a State or Territory that provides for the registration or licensing of medical practitioners and is either—
(a) an officer or employee within the meaning of the Public Service
Act 1922; or
(b) a member of the Defence Force engaged on continuous full-time service.".
