Act N o . 134 , 1978 .

An Act to amend section 49 of the Medical Practitioners Act, 1938, to exclude from the operation of that Act the practice of a registered chiropractor or osteopath. [Assented to, 21st December, 1978.1

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the "Medical Practitioners (Chiropractic) Amendment Act, 1978".

2. (1) This section and section 1 shall commence on the date of assent to this Act.

(2) Except as provided in subsection ( 1 ) , this Act shall commence on the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Chiropractic Act, 1978.

3. The Medical Practitioners Act, 1938, is amended by omitting from section 49 (1) the words "chiropodist or chiropractor" and by inserting instead the words "registered chiropodist or registered chiropractor or osteopath".
