These Regulations are the Medical Indemnity (UMP Support Payment) Regulations 2004.

2Commencement [see Note 1]

These Regulations commence on the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3Medical Indemnity (IBNR Indemnity) Contribution Regulations 2003 – repeal

Statutory Rules 2003 No. 197 is repealed.

4Definition

In these Regulations:

Act means the Medical Indemnity (UMP Support Payment) Act 2002.

5Last contribution year for UMP

For subsection 5 (2) of the Act, the financial year that starts on 1 July 2006 is declared to be the last contribution year for United Medical Protection Limited.

6Imposition day for contribution year starting on 1 July 2003

For subparagraph 5 (3) (a) (ii) of the Act, 1 May 2004 is specified as the imposition day for the contribution year that starts on 1 July 2003.

7Imposition day for contribution years starting on or after 1 July 2004 – certain participating members of UMP
  1. (1)

    This regulation specifies the imposition day for a contribution year that starts on or after 1 July 2004 for the class of participating members of United Medical Protection Limited that, on 1 November in that contribution year, have medical indemnity cover provided by a contract of insurance with Australasian Medical Insurance Limited.

  2. (2)

    For subparagraph 5 (3) (b) (ii) of the Act, 1 November in the contribution year is specified as the imposition day for the contribution year for that class.

  3. (3)

    In this regulation:

    medical indemnity cover has the meaning given by subsection 4 (1) of the Medical Indemnity Act 2002.

Note 1

The Medical Indemnity (UMP Support Payment) Regulations 2004 (in force under the Medical Indemnity (UMP Support Payment) Act 2002) as shown in this compilation comprise Statutory Rules 2004 No. 9 amended as indicated in the Tables below.

Under the Legislative Instruments Act 2003, which came into force on 1 January 2005, it is a requirement for all non-exempt legislative instruments to be registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
