s1 2 s5 Medical Assessment Tribunal Amendment (No. 1) No. 62, 1996 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Medical Assessment Tribunal Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 1996 . ˙ Subordinate legislation amended 2. This regulation amends the Medical Assessment Tribunal Rules 1987 . ˙ Replacement of s 1 (Short title) 3. Section 1— omit, insert— ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the MedicalAssessmentTribunalRegulation 1987 .’. ˙ Omission of s 3 (Arrangement) 4. Section 3— omit. ˙ Insertion of new pt 4 5. After section 10— insert— PART 4—GENERAL ˙ Directions 11.(1) The tribunal may hold a conference (a “directions conference” ) for considering or giving directions for any matter or proceeding within its jurisdiction. (2) At or after the conference, the tribunal may give the directions with respect to the matter or proceeding that it considers proper.
s6 3 s6 Medical Assessment Tribunal Amendment (No. 1) No. 62, 1996 (3) A directions conference may be held, and directions given— (a) at any time; and (b) on the application of a party or by the tribunal on its own initiative. (4) A directions conference may be conducted, and directions given, by telephone, video link or another form of communication. (5) The assessors may take part in a directions conference if the tribunal considers that it is necessary or desirable for them to take part in the conference.’. ˙ Repeal of rule 6. The instrument made as a rule under the Act on 24 May 1984 and published in the gazette on 26 May 1984 at page 840 is repealed. ENDNOTES 1. Made by the Governor in Council on 4 April 1996. 2.
