Medical Amendment Act 2006

An Act to amend the Medical Act 1894.

[Assented to 6 October 2006]

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

Medical Amendment Act 2006

s. 1

1.             Short title

This is the Medical Amendment Act 2006.

2.             Commencement

This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives the

Royal Assent.

3.             The Act amended

The amendments in this Act are to the Medical Act 1894*.

4.             Section 4 amended

Section 4(1a)(a) is deleted and the following paragraph is

inserted instead —

“

(a) a person nominated by the chief executive officer who is —

(i)      a medical practitioner; and

(ii)      a public service officer, as defined in the Public Sector Management Act 1994, or employed on the salaried staff of a

public authority, as defined in the

Industrial Relations Act 1979;

”.
