Q1tmtslalt 691 ANNO VICESIMO TERTIO ELIZABETHAE SEC UNDAE REGINAE No. 74 of 1974 An Act to amend the Medical Act and Other Acts (Administration ) Act 1966-1973 in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 1ST NOVEMBER, 1974] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Medical Act and Other Acts (Administration) Act Amendment Act 1974. (2) The Medical Act and Other Acts (Administration) Act 1966-1973 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Medical Act and Other Acts (Administration) Act1966-1974. 2. Commencement . This Act shall commence on a day to be fixed by Proclamation. 3. Substitution of new long title. The Principal Act is amended by omitting the long title and substituting the following long title:- An Act to provide for the financing of the administration of the MedicalAct 1939-1973, the DentalAct 1971-1973, the Pharmacy Act 1917-1972, the OptometristsAct 1974, The Nurses Act of 1964 , The Physiotherapists Acts, 1964 to 1965 and the ChiropodistsAct 1969 and for other purposes ". 4. Amendment of s. 3. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in the note to the section, omitting the words " certain Boards. and substituting the words " The Pharmacy Board.";

692 Medical Act and Other Acts (Admin) Act Anidt Act 1974, No. 74 (b) omitting all those words occurring before the words " continue to be " and substituting the words " The Pharmacy Board constituted under the Pharmacy Act 1917-1972 shall ". 5. Amendment of s. 4 . Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words " The Board of Optometrical Registration constituted under " The Optometrists Acts, 1917 to 1959 ";" and substituting the words " The Optometrists Board of Queensland constituted under the Optometrists Act1974;". 6. Amendment of s. 10 . Section 10 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words " the Principal " and substituting the word " this ". 7. New s. 11. The Principal Act is amended by inserting after section 10 the following section:- " 11. Audit. (1) The accounts and associated books and records of each of the Boards referred to in section 4 shall be subject to audit by the Auditor-General or an officer authorized by him in that behalf and with respect to such audit the Auditor-General shall have all the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Audit Act 1874-1968. (2) The Auditor-General may make such report to the Minister with respect to the audit as he thinks fit. (3) Any provision in any of the Acts referred to in section 4 in relation to the auditing of accounts or associated books or records of a Board applies subject to this section.".
