An Act to Amend "The Medical Act of 1939 " in a THE MEDICAL ACT certain particular. AHENDHENT ACT 01/ 1940. [ASSENTED TO 21ST NOVEMBER, 1940]. B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title 1. This Act may be cited as "The MedicalAct :!truction. Amendment Act of 1940," and shall be read as one with *" The Medical Act of 1939," herein referred to as the Principal Act. Collective The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively title. cited as " The Medical Acts, 1939 to 1940." Amendment of the Principal Act. Amendment 2. The following subsection, numbered five, is of B. 19 (1). added to section nineteen of the. Principal Act, namely:- "(5.) (a) The operation of paragraphs (c) and (d) of subsection one and subsections two, three, and four of this section shall be and be deemed to be suspended on and after the date of the passing of t" The Medical Act Amendment Act of 1940" and until such later date as the Governor in Council shall by Proclamation published in the Gazette declare that the said paragraphs and subs8ctions shall again come into operation. (b) The Governor in Council may at any time after the conclusion of the war existing at the passing of t" The Medical Act Amendment Act of 1940" declare by Proclamation published in the Gazette that paragraphs (c) and (d) of subsection one and subsectjons two, three, and four of this section shall again come into operation, either generally or subject to such modifications as may * 3 Geo. Nur8M and Ma88eur8 Regi8tration, Etc., Act. be specified in such Proclamation, and thereafter such paragraphs shall (subject to the modifications, if any, specified in such Proclamation) again come, and be deemed to come, into operation. Any such modification may be general or may refer to a particular class of applicants for registration as medical practitioners or to a class of such applicants who possess particular qualifications. (c) When the ,said paragraphs (c) and (d) of subsection one and subsections two, three, and four again come into operation (and whether with or without modification) no provision thereof shall apply or be deemed to apply to or with respect to any person who was registered as a medical practitioner during the period for which same were not in operation, but every provision of this Act other than the said paragraphs and subsections shall apply and be deemed to apply at all times to and with respect to any such person." 17961 An Act to Amend "The Nurses and Masseurs 4 GEO.
