Meat Research Corporation Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Meat Research Corporation Act 1985.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Meat Research Corporation Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s.48.]

2.   New regulations 2A and 2B

2.1   After regulation 2, insert:

Definition of “eligible industry body”—subsection 3 (1) of the Act

 “2A. For the purposes of paragraph (d) of the definition of ‘eligible industry body’ in subsection 3 (1) of the Act, the Meat and Allied Trades Federation of Australia is prescribed for the purposes of subsections 30 (6) and 35 (3) of the Act.

Power to enter into contracts for the purchase of property

 “2B. For the purposes of subsection 7 (3) of the Act, $3,000,000 is prescribed.”.
