AN ACT to provide for the licensing of treatment works for the treatment of carcases of sheep, pigs, and cattle for export.

B' it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

| Definitions. | 2. In this Act subject to the context the following |
terms shall have the following meanings:—
| License. | "License" means a current license issued and in force |
under this Act.
Sheep, pigs, or
| cattle. | "Sheep, pigs, or cattle" or "sheep, pigs, and cattle" |
include the young of either category.

| "Treatment works" means any building or place where Treatment | works. |

3. This Act shall be administered by the Minister for Administra-

5. (1.) Every person desirous of obtaining a license Application

| (a) | a plan of the treatment works or proposed treat- ment works, together with a statement of the capacity of the treatment works and the class or classes of sheep, pigs, or cattle or carcases to be treated; |
| (b) | such other information as is prescribed. |
(2.) In considering the application the Minister may call for such further information as he may desire and may in his absolute discretion grant or refuse to grant the application.
6. (1.) Every license issued under this Act shall Expiry of

Every license issued under this Act by the Minis- ter may be regranted from time to time on its expiry and shall enure until the thirtieth day of June in the fifth year next following the date of the regrant of the license and every such regrant shall be considered as a substantive license.
(2.)
Every license shall be issued subject to the provi- sions of this Act and to the regulations from time to time in force thereunder and to such other conditions as the Minister may in his discretion in the particular case require.

| (2.) Every licensee who refuses or neglects to comply with a request from any member of the public to treat sheep, pigs, or cattle in accordance with the provisions of this section shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding five hundred pounds. Notwithstanding the liability for and the imposition of any such penalty the license issued to the holder so offending may be cancelled by the Minister under the provisions of this Act. |

| (a) | forms for use under this Act ; |
| (b) | the charges to be made by licensees for treating |
sheep, pigs, or cattle or the carcases thereof ;
| (c) | the method of applying for licenses; |
(d) the form of licenses;
| (e) | general conditions which may be attached to |
licenses;
| (f) | the method of revoking licenses; |
| (g) | returns to be furnished by persons holding licenses |
under this Act;
| (h) | penalties not exceeding twenty pounds for breach |
| of a regulation. |
