(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Meat Industry Amendment Act 1998, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1999 as the day on which that Act (Schedule1 [11] excepted) commences.

Explanatory note
The object of this proclamation is to commence all the provisions of the Meat Industry Amendment Act 1998 other than an amendment to a provision limiting the operation of the Meat Industry Act 1987 in relation to the slaughter of animals for consumption by the slaughterer and certain other persons and animals.

This proclamation is made under section 2 of the Act.
