An Act to amend the Meat Industry Act 1978 with respect to the meat industry levy and central killing areas. [Assented to 4 December 1990]

Meat Industry (Amendment) 1990

The Legislature of New South Wales enacts:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Meat Industry (Amendment) Act

1990.

Commencement

2. This Act commences on 1 January 1991.

Amendment of Meat Industry Act 1978 No. 54

3. The Meat Industry Act 1978 is amended as set out in Schedules

1 and 2.

Amendment of Meat Industry Levy Regulation 1985

4. The Meat Industry Levy Regulation 1985 is amended by omitting

clause 3A.

SCHEDULE 1 - AMENDMENTS RELATING TO MEAT

INDUSTRY LEVY

(Sec. 3)

Section 59A (Meat industry levy):

(a)	From section 59A, omit "Pastures Protection Act 1934" wherever occurring, insert instead "Rural Lands Protection Act 1989".
(b)	From section 59A (2) (a), omit "0.8 cents", insert instead "0.9 cents".
(c)	From section 59A (2) (b), omit "$60", insert instead "$100 (or such other amount as may be prescribed)".
(d)	From section 59A (5), omit "$60'' where firstly occurring, insert instead "$100 or, if an amount is prescribed for the purposes of subsection (2) (b), that amount".
(e)	From section 59A (5), omit "paid in excess of $60”, insert instead "of the excess".

SCHEDULE 2 - AMENDMENTS RELATING TO
CENTRAL KILLING AREAS

(Sec. 3)

(1) Section 4 (Definitions):

From section 4 (l), omit the definition of "central killing area".

(2) Section 46 (Functions of the Authority):

Omit section 46 (2) (e) and (f).

(3) Section 70 (Central killing areas):

Omit the section.

(4) Section 77 (Regulations):

Omit section 77 (2) (s).
