An Act to amend the Meat Industry Act, 1915, to authorise

The Metropolitan Meat Industry Board to trade in

Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in	BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as
follows:—

1. This Act may be cited as the "Meat Industry

(Amendment) Act, 1 9 7 7 " .

2. The Meat Industry Act, 1 9 1 5 , is amended in the

manner set forth in Schedule 1.

S C H E D U L E 1.

AMENDMENTS TO MEAT INDUSTRY ACT, 1 9 1 5 .

( 1 ) (a) Section 1 4 ( 1 ) ( 3 ) —

After "the same", insert ", either on its own behalf or".

(b) Section 1 4 ( 1 ) ( 4 ) —

After section 1 4 ( 1 ) ( 3 ) , insert:—

( 4 ) purchase animals or meat;
(c)	Section 1 4 ( 1 ) ( 5 ) —

After "meat", insert ", either on its own behalf

or".

(d) Section 1 4 ( 1 ) ( 6 ) —

Omit "on behalf of any person, and sell the same in any place", insert instead ", either on its own

behalf or on behalf of any other person, and sell

the same in any place, either on its own behalf

or".

(e) Section 1 4 ( 1 ) ( 8 ) —

After "disposal of", insert "meat,".

(f) Section 1 4 ( 1 ) ( 8 ) —

Omit "convert it into a merchantable article and

sell the same", insert instead "sell any resulting

product".

(g) Section 1 4 ( 1 A ) —

After section 1 4 ( 1 ) , insert:—

( 1 A ) In subsection ( 1 ) , "meat" includes a meat product such as is used for human consumption.

( 2 ) Section 3 0 ( 1 ) ( 5 ) —

After "manufacturing process to any", insert "meat,".
