MEAT INDUSTRY ACT 1978—REGULATION

(Relating to the calculation of meat industry levy)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Meat Industry Act 1978, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, and Minister for Mines.

The Meat Industry Levy Regulation 1985 is amended:

(a)

by omitting from clause 3A (1) the matter “1 cent” and by inserting instead the matter “ 1 . 1 cents”;

(b)

by omitting from clause 3A (2) the matter “$110” and by inserting instead the matter “$120”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The objects of this Regulation are:

(a) toincrease the rateofthemeat industry levyfrom1to1.1centsforeach

stock unit equivalent of carrying capacity of the land; and

(b) to increase the maximum Levy payable from $110 to $120.

The amount of the levy calculated at the higher rate will be payable unless that

amount exceeds $120 in which case $120 will be the maximum amount payable.

This Regulation is made under section 59A (2) of the Meat Industry Act 1985.
