MEAT INDUSTRY ACT 1978—REGULATION

(Relating to licence fees)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Meat Industry Act 1978, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 September 1993.

Amendments

2. The Meat Industry (Licensing) Regulation 1980 is amended:

(a) by omitting clause 20 (2) (c) and by inserting instead the

following paragraph:

(c)

a fee of $150 in the case of a class 1, 2, 3 or 5 meat processing plant or $87 in the case of a class 4 meat processing plant.

(b)

by omitting clause 32 (c) and by inserting instead the following paragraph:

(c) be accompanied by a fee of $35.

(c)

by omitting clause 42 (c) and by inserting instead the folllowing paragraph:

(c)

the issue or renewal of a meat market licence or a class I, 2, 3 or 5 meat processing plant licence is $300; or

(c1) the issue or renewal of a class 4 meat processing plant

licence is $175; or

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Meat Industry (Licensing)
Regulation 1980 to adjust the fee structure for applications for meat processing

plant licences and for the issue and renewal of licences for meat processing plants.

The amendments will have the effect of reducing:

(a)

the application fees for licences for class 4 or 5 meat processing plants and for class 4 meat vans; and

(b) the issue and renewal fees for licences for class 4 meat processing plants.
