REGULATION UNDER THE MEAT EXPORT CONTROL ACT 1935-1938.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Meat Export Control Act 1935–1938.

Amendment of the Meat Export Control (Staff) Regulations. 

Regulation 11 of the Meat Export Control (Staff) Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Travelling allowances.

“11.—(1.) Officers who are required to travel on the business of the Board—

(a) shall be paid travelling allowances in accordance with Table B; and

(b) shall be allowed first-class rail or steamer fares, or, if the Board approves of the use of a private motor car, the officer shall be paid an allowance—

(i) in the case of an officer stationed in the Commonwealth—in accordance with the rates fixed by Commonwealth Public Service Regulations for the time being in force; and

(ii) in the case of an officer stationed in the United Kingdom—at the following rates:—

Motor car 8 h.p. or under—2¾d. per mile;

Motor car over 8 h.p. and not exceeding 10 h.p.—3½d. per mile;

Motor car over 10 h.p.—4d. per mile.

“(2.) Allowances under this regulation payable to an officer stationed in the United Kingdom shall be paid in English currency.”.
