REGULATIONS UNDER THE MEAT EXPORT CONTROL ACT
1935–1946.*
I,
THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the Meat Export Control Act 1935–1946.

Meat Export Control (Fees,
Salaries and Expenses) Regulations.
Citation.
1. These
Regulations may be cited as the Meat Export Control (Fees, Salaries and Expenses)
Regulations.
Commencement.
2. These
Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the seventh day of
November, 1946.
Repeal.
3. The Meat
Export Control (Fees and Expenses) Regulations (being Statutory Rules 1936, No.
41 as amended by Statutory Rules 1936, No. 155, 1938, No. 34 and 1939, No. 112)
are repealed.
Application
of Regulations.
4. These
Regulations shall not apply to the Chairman of the Board, or to any member of
the Board or of any Committee of the Board, or to the deputy of any such
member, if he is a member of the Parliament of the Commonwealth or of any
State.
Salary
of Chairman of Board.
5. The
Chairman of the Board shall receive a salary of One thousand five hundred
pounds per annum.
Travelling
expenses of Chairman.
6. The
Chairman of the Board, when he is required to travel on the business of the
Board, shall receive a travelling allowance at the rate of Two pounds two
shillings per day and shall be reimbursed the amounts actually incurred by him
in respect of the cost of conveyance.
Salary
of employees’ representative.
7. The
member of the Board appointed to represent employees engaged in the slaughter
and preparation of meat and meat products for export shall receive a salary of
Seven hundred and fifty pounds per annum.

Fees
and travelling expenses of employees’ representative.
8. The
member of the Board appointed to represent employees engaged in the slaughter
and preparation of meat and meat products for export, when he is required to
travel on the business of the Board, shall receive a travelling allowance at
the rate of One pound ten shillings per day and shall be reimbursed the amounts
actually incurred by him in respect of the cost of conveyance.
Fees
of members.
9. A member
of the Board (other than the Chairman and the member appointed to represent
employees engaged in the slaughter and preparation of meat and meat products
for export) and a deputy of a member of the Board shall receive a fee of Four
pounds four shillings per day for attendance at a meeting of the Board or of
any Committee of the Board or whilst engaged on such business of the Board as
the Board determines:
Provided
that only one fee shall be paid in respect of any day on which the member or
deputy of a member attends a meeting of the Board or of any Committee of the
Board or engages in the business of the Board.
Travelling
expenses of members.
10.—(1.) Where
any member resides at a distance of more than fifteen miles from the place
where a meeting of the Board or of the Committee, as the case may be, is held,
or from the place where he is required by the Board to engage in any business
of the Board referred to in the last preceding regulation, he shall, subject to
this regulation, receive an allowance at the rate of Two pounds two shillings
per day to cover expenses incurred in travelling in connexion with attendance
at that meeting or with that business.
(2.) In addition to the allowance specified in
sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation, a member shall be reimbursed the return
fares actually and necessarily incurred in travelling from his place of
residence to the place where the meeting is held or the business is transacted.
(3.) In this regulation, “member” means a member of
the Board or of any Committee of the Board and includes any deputy of a member
of the Board, but does not include the Chairman of the Board or the member
appointed to represent employees engaged in the slaughter and preparation of
meat and meat products for export.
