AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Meat Ordinance 1931-1933.

BE it ordained by the Governor-General in and over the Federal Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred Commonwealth of Australia, with the advice of the by the Seat of Government Acceptance Act 1909-1988 and the
Seat of Government {Administration) Act 1910-1939, as follows:—

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Meat Ordinance short title

(2.) The Meat Ordinance 1931-1933, as amended by this

Ordinance, may be cited as the Meat Ordinance 1931-1940.

2. After section nineteen of the Meat Ordinance 1931-1933

the following section is inserted:—

" 19A. In any proceedings under this Ordinance against any Evidenee in

person, the presence of meat— oertata on?nci.

[a) in a vehicle used by that person in the business of selling meat shall be prima facie evidence that he has that meat in possession for sale, that the meat is intended for sale and that he has exposed the meat for sale; or

(b) on premises where that person is engaged (whether as principal or employee) in the business of selling meat—shall be prima facie evidence that he has that meat in possession for sale, that he has exposed or offered that meat for sale and that the premises are a place where meat is prepared for sale.".
