Maternity Leave (Commonwealth Employees) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Maternity Leave (Commonwealth Employees)Act 1973.

Commencement

1. These Regulations commence on 1 July 1989.

Principal Regulations

2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Maternity Leave (Commonwealth Employees) Regulations.

Prescribed authorities

3. Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended:

(a) by adding at the end of paragraph (a) “and”;

(b) by inserting after paragraph (c) the following word and paragraph:

“and (d) ANL Limited and SMEC Limited are declared to be bodies corporate;”.

Prescribed persons

4. Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) “regulation 4” and substituting “paragraph 4 (a), (b) or (c)”.

Schedule 1

5. Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting items 23, 42 and 45.

Schedule 3

6. Schedule 3 to the Principal Regulations is amended by adding at the end the following items:

“68 A person who is an officer or employee of ANL Limited on 1 July 1989 and who immediately preceding that day, was a member, or a member of the staff, of the Australian Shipping Commission

“69 A person who is an officer or employee of SMEC Limited on 1 July 1989 and who, immediately preceding that day constituted, or was a member of the staff, of the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation”.
