An Act to Amend "The Married Women's Property THE MAImIED Act, 1890," in certain particulars. WOMEN'S PROPERTY AOT [ASSENTED TO 8TH APRIL, 1943.] AMENDMENT ACT OF 1943. B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :- Short title 1. This Act may be cited as "The Married Women's and t t' Property Act Amendment Act of 1943," and shall be read cons ruc IOn. as one with *" The Married Women's Property Act, 1890," as amended by t" The Married Women's Property Act, 1897," t" The Oriminal Oode Act, 1899," §" The Life Assurance Oompanies Act of 1901," and 11" The Statute Law Revision Act of 1908," herein collectively referred to as the Principal Act. Collective title. *"The Married Women's Property Act, 1890," as amended by the Acts hereinbefore mentioned and this Act, may be collectively cited as " The Married Women's Property Acts, 1890 to 1943." Amendment of s. 3. 2. The following subsection, numbered three, is inserted after subsection two of section three of *" The Married Women's Property Act, 1890," namely:- Abolition of husband's " (3.) The husband of a married woman shall not, liability for by reason only of his being her husband, be liable- wife's torts and ante- (a) In respect of any tort committed by her, nuptial contracts, debts, and whether before or after marriage, or in respect of any contract entered into or debt or obligations. 25 and 26 Geo.
