An Act to declare valid the Marriage of a Man with the Sister of his Deceased Wife. [Reserved21st July, 1875.]

WH E R E A S doubts have arisen in New South Wales as to the validity of the marriage of a man with the sister of his

deceased wife and it is expedient to remove such doubts Be it there­ fore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same; as follows :—

1. Every marriage otherwise lawful which has been heretofore or which shall be hereafter celebrated within the Colony of New South Wales between any person and the sister of his deceased wife shall be deemed and is hereby declared to have been and to be valid and of full force and effect any law or custom to the contrary notwithstanding.
