Marriage Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Marriage Act 1961.

Fifth Schedule

The Fifth Schedule to the Marriage Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting from Item 4 “10.00” and substituting “12.00”;

(b) by omitting from Item 5 “6.00” and substituting “8.00”;

(c) by omitting from Item 10 “10.00” and substituting “12.00”;

(d) by omitting from Item 11 “15.00” and substituting “20.00”;

(e) by omitting from Item 12 “50.00” and substituting “55.00”;

(f) by omitting paragraph (a) of Item 12a and substituting the following paragraph:

“(a) where the distance between the home of that celebrant and the place of marriage is not more than 30 kilometres—$10 for the whole or part of the first 20 kilometres and $5 for the whole or part of each additional 10 kilometres (including the return journey) necessarily travelled for the purpose specified in this item”;

(g) by omitting paragraph (a) of Item 12b and substituting the following paragraph:

“(a) where the marriage is solemnized during normal hours of duty of that officer, at a place other than the usual place of employment of that officer, and the distance between that place of employment and the place of marriage is not more than 30 kilometres—$10 for the whole or part of the first 20 kilometres and $5 for the whole or part of each additional 10 kilometres (including the return journey) necessarily travelled for the purpose specified in this item”;

(h) by omitting from Item 13 “50.00” and substituting “55.00”;

(i) by omitting from Item 14 “10.00” and substituting “20.00”; and

(j) by omitting from Item 15 “10.00” and substituting “20.00”.
