1 Name
This instrument is the Marriage (Celebrant Professional Development) Statement 2019.
2 Commencement
1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Authority
This instrument is made under subsection 53(3) of the Marriage Regulations 2017.
4 Definitions
In this instrument:
ACQ means Alliance of Celebrants Queensland.
Activity means an OPD activity delivered by a provider on the Attorney-General’s Department OPD Panel, or a Certificate IV in Celebrancy unit, or a celebrant association conference.
AFCC means Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants.
AMC means Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc.
ACMCV means Association of Civil Marriage Celebrants of Victoria Incorporated.
Australian Celebrations Training means Australian Celebrations Training Pty Ltd (ACN 104 287 112).
CCN means Civil Celebrations Network.
Gordon Institute of TAFE means the Gordon Institute of Technical and Further Education (ABN 27 241 053 246).
Life Skills Training means Life Skills Training Pty Ltd (ACN 059 479 159).
Nepean Industry Edge Training means Nepean Industry Edge Training Pty Ltd (ACN 144 553 300).
QualTrain means QualTrain Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 622 208 182).
Regulations means the Marriage Regulations 2017.
Rose Training means Rose Training Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 605 893 810).
Part 2—Professional development activities
5 List of professional development activities
(1) For the purposes of paragraph 53(3)(a) of the Regulations, Schedule 1 sets out a list of professional development activities for 2019.
(2) For the purposes of paragraph 53(3)(b) of the Regulations, the professional development activity which is compulsory for 2019 comprises at least one activity which falls within Table 1 of Schedule 1.

The amendment history in endnote 4 provides information about amendments at the provision (generally section or equivalent) level. It also includes information about any provision of the compiled law that has been repealed in accordance with a provision of the law.
Misdescribed amendments
A misdescribed amendment is an amendment that does not accurately describe the amendment to be made. If, despite the misdescription, the amendment can be given effect as intended, the amendment is incorporated into the compiled law and the abbreviation “(md)” added to the details of the amendment included in the amendment history.
If a misdescribed amendment cannot be given effect as intended, the abbreviation “(md not incorp)” is added to the details of the amendment included in the amendment history.
