1  Name

This is the Marriage Act (Proclaimed Overseas Countries) Proclamation 2016.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under section 54 of the Marriage Act 1961.

5  Definitions

In this instrument:

Act means the Marriage Act 1961.

6  Proclaimed overseas countries

For section 54 of the Act, a country mentioned in the following table is a proclaimed overseas country for the purposes of Division 3 of Part IV of the Act.
