AN ACT to legalize the marriage of a Man with the Sister

of his Deceased Wife.

[Reserved, 6th August, 1877.]

[Royal Assent Proclaimed, 7th May, 1878.]

HEREAS it is expedient that the maniage of a Man with

be deemed other than a good and valid marriage merely by reason

of the affinity between the parties to such marriage.

2   FROM and after the passing of this Act it shall be lawful for

a man, within this Colony, to marry the sister of his deceased. wife.

I reserve -this Bill for the signification of Her Majesty's

pleasure thereon.
