An Act to amend an Act inti tuled " An Act to 1 1

authorize the establishment of Markets in

" certain Towns in the Colony of New South " Wales and for the appointment of Commis-

" sioners	to manage	the same."	[29th	June,
1841.]

WH E R E A S by an Ac t of t h e Governor and Counci l of Now Sou th Wales passed in t h e th i rd year of t he re ign of H e r

present Majesty Queen Victor ia in t i tu led " An Act to authorize the

" establishment of Markets in certain Towns in the Colony of New " South Wales and for the appointment of Commissioners to manage " the same" i t was amongs t o ther th ings enacted t h a t if at any publ ic mee t ing of t h e free i nhab i t an t s of any town in t he said Colony such mee t ing being duly convened and held as in t he said reci ted A c t is directed a resolut ion be adopted in favour of es tabl ishing a M a r k e t in

such town and t h e Governor w i t h t h e advice of t h e Execu t ive Council should approve of t h e es tab l i shment of such M a r k e t t h e same should

be notified in t h e New South Wales Government	Gazette and whereas
i t is expedient in cer ta in cases to au thor ize t h e es tabl ishment	of two

or more M a r k e t s wi th in t h e same town Be i t therefore enacted by

H i s Excel lency t h e Governor of New South W a l e s wi th t h e advice of

t he Legis la t ive Counci l thereof T h a t whenever a t any publ ic meet ing duly convened and held as aforesaid of t h e free inhab i t an t s of any par i sh or separa te por t ion of any t o w n in t h e said Colony of which

t h e n u m b e r of i n h a b i t a n t s shal l no t be less t h a n one t housand a

reso lu t ion shall be adopted in favour of es tabl ishing a M a r k e t	therein
and H i s Excel lency t h e Governor wi th t h e advice of t h e	Execut ive

Council shall have approved of t h e es tab l i shment of such M a r k e t t he

same shall be notified in t h e New South Wales Government Gazette.

2. A n d be i t enac ted T h a t except as hereinbefore a l te red and amended t h e several and respect ive provisions of t h e said reci ted Act shall be held to app ly to all i n t en t s a n d purposes in as full a n d ample a m a n n e r to any M a r k e t established u n d e r th i s Ac t as if t h e same had

been establ ished u n d e r t h e said reci ted Ac t .
