MARITIME SERVICES ACT 1935—REGULATION

(Repeal of the Port Authority—Smoke Control—Regulations N.S.W.)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,

and in pursuance of the Maritime Services Act 1935, has been pleased to approve the Regulation made by the Maritime Services Board of New South Wales and set forth hereunder.

The Maritime Services Board of New South Wales, in pursuance of the

Maritime Services Act 1935, hereby makes the following Regulation:

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1st October, 1991.

Repeal

2. The Port Authority—Smoke Control—Regulations N.S.W. are

repealed.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to repeal the Port Authority—Smoke Control— Regulations N.S.W. The Regulations prohibit the emission of certain categories of smoke or soot from vessels in port. This form of pollution is now regulated by the Clean Air Act 1961. Consequently, the Regulations are obsolete.
