Maritime Services Amendment

(Abatement of Noise) Regulation

1996

Maritime Services Act 1935

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Maritime Services Act 1935.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to omit certain provisions dealing with the abatement of noise from vessels from the Management of Waters and Waterside Lands Regulations—N.S.W. and the Water Traffic Regulations— N.S.W. The noise emitted by and from vessels will be regulated under the Noise Control (Marine Vessels) Regulation 1996.

This Regulation is made under section 38 of the Maritime Services Act 1935.

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Maritime Services Amendment (Abatement

of Noise) Regulation 1996.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 4 October 1996.

3 Amendment of Management of Waters and Waterside Lands

Regulations—N.S.W.

The Management o f Waters and Waterside Land Regulations—

N.S.W. are amended by omitting Division 5 of Part 2.

4 Amendment of Water Traffic Regulations—N.S.W.

The Water- Traffic Regulations—N.S.W. are amended by omitting

Regulation 10.
