Marine Safety (General) Further

Amendment (Fees) Regulation 2010

under the

Marine Safety Act 1998

Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Marine Safety Act 1998.

ERIC ROOZENDAAL, MLC

Minister for Ports and Waterways

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Marine Safety (General) Regulation 2009:

(a) to increase certain fees payable under the Marine Safety Act 1998, and
(b) to introduce fees for new 5-year personal watercraft driving licences and boat driving licences and for the issue of replacement vessel registration labels.

The fee increases are generally in line with movements in the Consumer Price Index (the CPI). In relation to fees recently increased by the Marine Safety (General) Amendment (Fees) Regulation 2010, the CPI adjustments have been calculated on the fees in force before the commencement of that regulation.

This Regulation is made under the Marine Safety Act 1998, including sections 37 (2) (k) and

137 (the general regulation-making power).
