The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objectives

The objective of these Regulations is to insert certain increased marine infringement penalties due to a slip in the Marine (Infringement) Regulations 19961.

2. Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 60 and

105 of the Marine Act 1988.

3. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Marine (Procedures)
Regulations 19892 are called the Principal

Regulations.

4. Amended Marine Infringement Penalties

In the Table in regulation 301 of the Principal
Regulations—

Marine (Procedures) (Infringement) Regulations 1997

r. 4 S.R. No. 8/1997
(a) after "Equipment Offences—Recreational
vessels" insert—
" 52. Failing to carry M(V)R 80";
lifejacket or personal R603
flotation device for each
person on board

(b)

in Column 4 opposite Code 87, for "100" substitute "200".
