MARINE (Prevention of COLLISION) regulations 1982

Regulations under the Marine Act 1981

1Citation

These Regulations may be cited as the Marine (Prevention of Collision) Regulations 1982.

2Commencement

These Regulations shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.

3Interpretation

In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

Code means the Uniform Code and includes appendices thereto.

Schedule means the Schedule to section 16 of the Code.

vessel has the meaning given to it in rule 3 in the Schedule.

4Prevention of Collision rules

The rules and requirements set out in the Schedule shall apply in relation to a vessel to which Part IV, Division 6 of the Act applies, and to the master, mate and each person responsible for the navigation or working of that vessel.
