Marine Navigation Levy Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Marine Navigation Levy Act 1989.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 January 1995.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Marine Navigation Levy Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 3 (Interpretation)

3.1   Insert the following definition:

“‘quarter’ has the same meaning as in the Marine Navigation Levy Collection Act 1989.”.

4.   Regulation 4 (Amount of levy)

4.1   Subregulation 4 (1):

Omit “Act, 45 cents is prescribed.”, substitute “Act, there is prescribed:

• (a)

  for the quarters that commence on 1 January 1995 and 1 April 1995—42 cents; and

• (b)

  for any other quarter—45 cents.”.

4.2   Subregulation 4 (2):

Omit “Act, 36 cents is prescribed.”, substitute “Act, there is prescribed:

• (a)

  for the quarters that commence on 1 January 1995 and 1 April 1995—33.5 cents; and

• (b)

  for any other quarter—36 cents.”.

4.3   Subregulation 4 (3):

Omit “Act, 27 cents is prescribed.”, substitute “Act, there is prescribed:

• (a)

  for the quarters that commence on 1 January 1995 and 1 April 1995—25 cents; and

• (b)

  for any other quarter—27 cents.”.

4.4   Subregulation 4 (4):

Omit “Act, 12 cents is prescribed.”, substitute “Act, there is prescribed:

• (a)

  for the quarters that commence on 1 January 1995 and 1 April 1995—11 cents; and

• (b)

  for any other quarter—12 cents.”.
