AN ACT to amend the Margarine Act, 1940.
[Assented to 30th October, 1952.]
RE it enacted, by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council and the Legislative
Assembly of Western Australia, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the
same, as follows:—
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Margarine and citation
Act Amendment Act, 1952.
(2) In this Act the Margarine Act, 1940, Act No.
36 of 1940, is referred to as the principal Act.
(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act
may be cited as the Margarine Act, 1940-1952.
2. Section twenty-five of the principal Act is 2g:ride&
amended by adding before subsection (1) the follow-
ing subsection
(al) The provisions of this section are subject
to those of section twenty-five A of this Act.
3. The principal Act is amended by adding after Wea..25A
section twenty-five a section as follows-
25A. (1) On and after the commencement of the Margarine Act Amendment Act, 1952, paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section twenty-five of this Act shall be read as if the reference to the maximum quantity of three hundred and sixty-four tons were a reference to the maximum quantity of eight hundred tons.
(2) Notwithstanding that by notice referred to in that paragraph the Minister has declared a maximum quantity for the year commencing on the first day of January, 1952, he may by further notice published in the Gazette, increase the maximum quantity up to eight hundred tons for that year and may amend the licenses mentioned in subsections (3) and (4) of section twenty-five of this Act and current at the time of the publishing of the latter notice, accord- ingly.
